Kelowna, and the entire Okanagan Valley, is the heart of BC’s Wine Country. With well over 200 wineries within the Okanagan region, you can discover new wines and wineries at almost every turn!

Kelowna is nestled alongside the waters of Okanagan Lake. As the lake rarely freezes, boaters and fishing and water enthusiasts play on the lake year-round. Plus, within an hour of Kelowna, you'll find more than 20 lakes to explore, from Okanagan, Kalamalka, Wood, and Skaha to hidden gems like Beaver, Postill, and Dee Lake.

There are a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation and sporting opportunities available in Kelowna. Some of the more popular attractions include Big White Ski Resort, biking trails, pickle ball courts, hiking trails and more

Whether you are looking for the challenge of a world-class championship course such as Gallagher’s Canyon, The Kelowna Golf and Country Club or The Harvest Golf Club or you are simply eager to play, finding a course in the area makes for an easy task. There are over 20 golf courses within 1-hour of Kelowna. Many golf courses operate from February or March to October or November (weather determined). 

The Okanagan Symphony, Kelowna Actor’s Studio, Bumbershoot Children’s Theatre, Theatre Kelowna and Viva Musica are just a few of the theatre and music companies offering live performances in the Kelowna area. Kelowna is also home to a variety of art galleries and artists studios, dance studios and theatre or music classes.

National Geographic just named Kelowna one of the "15 Best Places in the World For Food Right Now" (June 2026). From world-class wineries, to locally owned brew pubs, local favourites and popular chain restaurants, there's no shortage of places to grab a good bite to eat, enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, or take in gorgeous views.

Downtown Kelowna has a vibrant shopping, recreation, dinging, and brewery scene. Anchored by Okanagan Lake, Prospera Place (home to the WHL's Kelowna Rockets), and performing arts theatres, there's always something to do downtown. 

School District #23 provides public schooling for kids in Kindergarten through grade 12 at a variety of neighborhood schools. There are also private school options available. UBC-Okanagan provides post-secondary education in a variety of degree programs and is continuing to grow in both its services and programs offered. Kelowna is also home to Okanagan College which provides trades, technical, adult education, and university and transfer program
